Cricket Stadium to Be Built on Umred Road in Nagpur

In a major boost to sports infrastructure, a cricket stadium along with a cricket academy is set to be developed on Umred Road in Nagpur. The proposal has been officially approved during a recent meeting of the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).
Stadium & Academy Development
According to officials, the project will be developed on approximately 6.5 acres of land, which has been allocated by the Nagpur Improvement Trust. The upcoming stadium and academy aim to promote cricket and provide better training facilities for young players in the region.
Additional Projects Approved
Along with the stadium project, several other development works have also received approval:
Land allocation for an Ayurveda college
Establishment of a care center for stray animals
Construction of an art gallery and library, with a budget of around ₹3.71 crore
Key Meeting Highlights
The decisions were taken during a board meeting chaired by senior officials, including Chairman Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi and Trustee Mohan Mate, along with other members.
Administrative Update
In another important development, certain departmental officials have now been given the authority to directly register FIRs, which is expected to improve administrative efficiency and speed up complaint handling.
